08/04/2010
Middle East – The Chevrolet Camaro was awarded World Car Design of the Year by a design panel consisting of five highly respected world design experts. The award was presented to Chevrolet on April 4th at the 2010 New York International Auto Show.

“In recreating this modern sports car, we have proven that people are just as passionate about Chevrolet as ever,” said Tom Peters, Chevrolet Design Director, Global RWD, Performance Cars and Full-size Trucks. “We have been delighted about the strong reaction to the Camaro. Even in markets that are new to Chevrolet, it has been creating an emotional appeal for the brand.”

The Camaro is available in two trims in the Middle East. The LT has a standard 3.6L Direct V-6 engine that pumps out 323hp and propels the car from 0-100km/h in 6.1 seconds. The SS model comes with two equally impressive 6.2L V-8 engines and 441 hp (0-100km/h in a thrilling 4.7 seconds).
The World Car Design of the Year category, and the corresponding award, is meant to highlight new vehicles with innovation and style that push established boundaries.
