The 2014 Chevrolet Malibu may not be considered the greatest mid-size sedan at the moment, but that doesn’t mean it’s not reliable. Case in point, the 2014 Malibu was given J.D. Power’s award for Highest Ranked Mid Size Car In Initial Quality, an impressive achievement for a vehicle that competes in the hotly contested mid-size sedan segment against rivals such as the recently redesigned Toyota Camry, Ford Fusion, as well as the Honda Accord. As Chevrolet should, they've gone and created an ad to let everybody know about it.
The award is the result of the J.D. Power going over data from its annual Initial Quality Survey (IQS) which details what customers experience during the first 90 days of owning a new vehicle. In the Malibu’s case, it received high marks for its body and interior quality as well as high marks in the design of its features and accessories and overall design of the fore-mentioned body and interior. In addition to the Malibu’s award, two other Chevrolet products also nabbed awards for Initial Quality from J.D. Power with the late-model 2014 Chevrolet Silverado HD earning top honors in the heavy duty pickup truck segment. Meanwhile, the late-model 2014 Chevrolet Suburban received top honors in the large SUV category and was actually tied with its sibling, the 2014 GMC Yukon in obtaining this particular award.
