The all-new 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray is the winner of Evo Magazine’s 2013 Muscle Car of the Year Award. Evo Middle East is one of the leading auto publications distributed across the region.
The 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray – which made its regional debut at the 2013 Dubai International Motor Show – strikes the perfect balance of technology, design and performance. It is the most powerful standard model ever, with SAE-certified 455 horsepower and 624 Nm – and 460 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 630 Nm at 4,600 rpm, with the available performance exhaust system. Moreover, the vehicle is the most capable standard model ever, with an acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 4 seconds and achieve 1.03g in cornering grip.
“We are honored to have won in the Muscle Car of the Year category,” said Markus Leithe, Regional Marketing Director of GM Middle East Operations. “This is a strong testament to the Corvette Stingray’s pioneering, high-performance driving experience, innovative craftsmanship and state-of-the-art technologies. Representing the future of modern performance cars, the all-new 2014 Corvette perfectly encapsulates the Stingray name and legacy.”
Bassam Kronfli, Evo Middle East’s Editor-in-chief echoed that statement, adding, “The seventh-generation Corvette is more than a match for its sports car rivals – with vastly improved aerodynamic design and handling. It is truly a muscle car through and through.”
The all-new Corvette Stingray shares only two parts with the previous generation Corvette. It incorporates an all-new frame structure and chassis, a new powertrain and supporting technologies, as well as completely new exterior and interior designs.
The all-new 2014 Corvette Stingray also won the prestigious 2013 Sports Car of the Year title from leading regional automotive magazines Sport Auto and Car Bazar, as well as Muscle Car of the Year from Car and Driver in the region. Most recently, it was granted the 2014 North American Car of Year Award in the U.S.
